Free Outdoor Movies in NYC: The Complete Summer 2026 Schedule
Every major series, with dates, start times, and the arrive-by times that actually matter. Updated July 2026 — bookmark this; we refresh it as lineups drop.
New York has been showing free movies outdoors since Bryant Park started in 1992, and 2026 is one of the deepest seasons yet: ten-plus series across the five boroughs, from a Midtown lawn to an aircraft carrier's flight deck. Everything below is free unless noted. Screenings start at dusk (~8:30 PM) unless a time is listed. The universal rule: the blanket crowd arrives 60–90 minutes early at the big venues.
The flagships
Bryant Park — Paramount+ Movie Nights
Mondays, July 13 – September 14 · Lawn opens 5 PM, film at 8 PM The 33rd season of the city's signature series opens with Wayne's World and runs a crowd-pleaser lineup including The Truman Show, Catch Me If You Can, City of God, No Country for Old Men, Galaxy Quest, Bridget Jones's Diary, Good Morning, Vietnam, and Shakespeare in Love. Food vendors from Hester Street Fair (4–8:30 PM) plus a beer-and-wine tent. This is the one where the 5 PM lawn-rush is real — treat the lawn opening as your start time.
Movies With a View — Brooklyn Bridge Park
